Just make sure you have some paint thinner to take it off if it messes with the signal. In fact, if I where I to try this, I'd paint the antenna with plastidip, then paint it with the silver paint as a test. Webb8 nov. 2014 · By measures I did when I replaced OEM rod antenna with OEM Shark fin antenna (see on photos in my previous post), signal strength on FM band was lowered by -2dBm and it was all precisely balanced and designed. I expect with just replacing the rod by piece of unbalanced wire, the loses could be twice as much.
